Adults, children and adolescents are welcome to Outland Psychology. You can simply sign up via our website, without prior diagnosis or a referral letter.
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer suitable help for the following issues:
For these above cases, we advise that you seek specialised treatments tailored for your needs.
If you feel in crisis or in need of emergency services, we encourage you to call your family doctor or the emergency line 112. You can also call 113 for suicide prevention.
Outland Psychologists have Master's degrees in Psychology recognized by Dutch law and are all affiliated with the Nederlands Instituut van Psycholoogen (NIP).
Outland Psychology operates as a private practice and presently, we do not hold agreements with insurance providers. Therefore, clients are responsible for the payment of their session fees directly.
Yes, all of our services are confidential. Any information that you share with your psychologist will remain between you and them. We will also not inform your insurance about treatment, this is your personal choice. However, there are a few exceptions when personal information may be shared with others:
* Supervision and intervisions: To ensure that we are giving the best assistance possible, we sometimes need to consult with external people (eg., colleagues, supervisors, family doctor). In these cases, information about a persons' identity will be kept confidential (eg., gender, age). All persons part of the discussion are legally bound to keep information confidential.
* Posing danger to oneself or others: If a person poses danger to one’s or someone else's life, we are obliged to break the confidentiality.
* Court cases: We may be ordered to break confidentiality and provide information if ordered so by the court of law.
* Administrative duties: Due to administrative tasks, members of Outland Psychologist have access to persons' contact information.
Before starting sessions, you and your psychologist will sign a form where you will give written consent to share certain information in the above-mentioned situations.
We require a 24-hour notice period if you cannot attend a session. Failure to do so will unfortunately lead to the full fee of the session being charged.
Understandably, unpredictable situations may happen once in a while. In these cases, please discuss possible solutions with your psychologist.
Providing the best quality care to you is very important to us and we are fully committed to creating a safe space where we can discuss any concerns you might have about the treatment process. We appreciate your feedback and invite you to co-create your experience together with us at all times.
According to the Wkkgz (Wet kwaliteit, klachten en geschillen zorg) law, discussing your complaint with your psychologist is the first ideal step. Sometimes a conversation about your dissatisfaction can provide clarity. However, if the concerns can’t be resolved during the sessions, NIP will help us.
