AMÁTA HLÉDIKOVÁ

Hi, I’m Amáta. I was born and raised in Prague, with Czech and Hungarian roots, and have later spent years in Vienna before moving to the Netherlands in 2021. Having grown up across different cultures and with family spread across the world, I have a personal understanding of what it can mean to adapt to new environments, navigate questions of belonging, and find stability when we are suddenly out of our element. This perspective naturally informs my work with international and expat clients navigating transitions, cultural adjustment, identity, and belonging.

I take an integrative approach to therapy, combining elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy, while adapting the therapeutic process to the individual needs of each client. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms. I aim to understand my clients as whole people – their experiences, relationships, patterns, values, and the ways they have learned to navigate the world.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. My aim is to create a warm, open and non-judgmental space where clients can bring whatever feels important to them. I work with a range of concerns, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, relationships, identity, life transitions, and more. I also have experience working with neurodivergent clients and have worked extensively with the LGBTQIA+ community. My practice is grounded in an inclusive and culturally sensitive approach, with an awareness of how culture, identity and life experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves and relate to others.

I offer individual therapy sessions in English and Czech for adults (18+) in The Hague and online. Feel free to use the button below to book a free consultation. I’ll be happy to hear from you.
